I started dancing when I was three years old and performed in nearly every style imaginable, from ballet to theatrical to Highland dancing. I began working at Costume & Ballet 24 years ago, while I was still training and performing, and worked my way up to become the proprietor over the past 20 years.

I understand the magic of a first little ballet outfit and shoes, the excitement of being told you are ready for pointe, the first pair of pointe shoes, and the challenges of becoming a senior dancer working toward your goals. I have watched little ballerinas prancing around the store in their first pair of shoes who now perform in companies overseas and with the West Australian and Australian Ballet companies.

Knowing that a correct fitting helped get them there is a great feeling. I am just as proud of my staff, who are every bit as passionate about dancing and correct fitting as I am.

Manager & pointe fitter

Tam

Tam is our manager, and she always puts her customers first. She is a former ballroom, Latin, New Vogue, jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary dancer, and she brings a world of knowledge into the store, often researching a shoe or product herself when she feels there is more to know. She is wonderful with our little ballerinas and first-time dancers, and she is a fully trained pointe shoe fitter across all 15 of our styles. We have been lucky to have her for the past 10 years.
